USA, Iran and China

Biden’s ‘Progressive’ Imperialist Attacks on Iran and Provocations against China

LCFI Statement

U.S. forces based in Iraq have bombed pro-Iran militia units in Syria. This is a clear sign of continuity with Trump’s US foreign policy under Joe Biden’s new presidency. Imperialism is not only a particular phase of capitalism, but also expressed by a policy of war (conventional or not) of the state at the service of financial capital and multinational monopolies.

The Trumpist invasion of the Capitol - CD - UK

Bourgeois Democracy and Workers Democracy

The statement by the American comrades dissociating them from our position of defence of the outcome of the November US elections from Trump’s Beer Hall putsch misunderstands the relationship between bourgeois democracy and workers democracy, misunderstands key elements of US social reality, and confuses the struggle against imperialist wars abroad with the defence of the workers movement and democratic rights at home.

Differences within LCFI about the current process of civil war in the US

About our differences over the Trumpist invasion of the Capitol

Socialist Workers League (USA) – Bolshevik Militant Tendency (Argentina) – Frente Comunista dos Trabalhadores (Brazil) – Sections of the Secretariat of the Americas of the Liaison Committee for the Fourth International

1. There are differences within our international current about the current process of civil war trends taking place in the US.

2.
SWL, FCT and TMB understand that only the organized proletariat can be trusted to crush Trumpism and they have no illusions in any bloc or support for the imperialist military measures of the Democratic Party. They do not believe that the coup plotters of the Democratic Party, who carried out coups against oppressed peoples, are the best allies of the US workers to combat Trump’s coups. They do not defend the “democracy of the rich imperialists” nor its decadent institutions that deliberate all the evils of big capital on the oppressed peoples of the world and the workers of the United States. This nation was built on the pillars of slave oppression and patriarchy. The Democratic Party is a structural and historical component of that state. Until the 1930s, the Democratic Party was the wing of the bipartisanship that best represented southern historical slavery (1). Therefore, the Democrats have neither strength nor interest in destroying the supremacist wing, nor in eradicating its tradition that is part of the Democratic tradition itself, but only in attenuating them and using them as justification to expand their political power. We advocate a political uprising (far beyond the social or racial) of the indigenous, Latino, Afro-descendant and exploited masses, Muslims, oppressed whites against the carnage promoted by the corporations of all their governmental agents.

1. For those who have not yet recovered from the year 2020, 2021 started on January 6 with an unprecedented event, indicating how much can be a convulsive year. We recall that, from a geopolitical point of view, 2020 started with a US drone attack that murdered Iran’s top military chief in Iraq, Qasem Soleimani, an event of great regional repercussion that was followed by the global economic crisis and the pandemic.

Revolutionary Working Class organisations on the anti-racist mass upsurge in the United States

Revolutionary working class organisations on the anti-racist mass upsurge in the United States

LCFI Statement

SWL - LCFI on Black Lives Matter demonstration in New York
George Floyd was another worker murdered by the imperialist police state, the mortal enemy of blacks, workers and the oppressed of the world

The flagrantly racist May 25th murder of George Floyd in Minneapolis has set off an enormous wave struggles in the United States, at least as big as those in the 1960s that were the culmination of the Civil Rights movement against Jim Crow segregation, the legacy of the defeat of reconstruction after the US Civil War abolished slavery. This struggle is against the results of decades of racist reaction that began at the end of the 1970s, with the rise of Reagan, neoliberalism, and the prolonged movement of American society to the right that carried on under Clinton, with its expanded death penalty and mass incarceration of blacks, deepening more under George W Bush’s ‘War on Terror’ militarisation of the cops, hardly dented by the first black Democratic President Obama, culminating with the openly racist Trump since 2016.

Free Julian Assange now!

Free Julian Assange now!

We republish below the statement of the Liaison Committee for the Fourth International on Julian Assange’s case from April 2019, immediately after he was expelled from the Ecuadorian embassy and sent to Belmarsh in preparation for planned extradition to the US Gulag. This is a pretty good summary of the issues and smears that were used for years to undermine Assange’s defence.

USA, The Lowest Rate of Productivity since WWII

More precarious work, less productivity, more misery, more barbarism

The USA counter-offensive managed to advance the world and established a national truce between the two wings of imperialism (Democrats and Republicans, with all their contradictions and fractions, from Bernie Sanders to the Tea Party).

In defense of Nicaragua, against the USA and its coup agents

Socialist Fight – Britain

Communist Revolutionary Action – Greece

A new focus of tension emerges from the current cold war, a new operation “regime change” is underway, the US now support a campaign to overthrow the Nicaraguan government. Since April 18, armed right-wing paramilitary groups have carried out a wave of violent attacks against public institutions, leftist demonstrators and police, to create chaos and promote civil war in the country. 10 people were killed and more than 80 were injured, including at least 30 policemen. Most of the deaths resulted from the lethal use of firearms by right-wing provocateurs.

Cosmos

 The Big Bang Never Happened

Eric J Lerner

In 1991, my book, the Big Bang Never Happened (Vintage), presented evidence that the Big Bang theory was contradicted by observations and that another approach, plasma cosmology, which hypothesized a universe without beginning or end, far better explained what we know of the cosmos. The book set off a considerable debate. Since then, observations have only further confirmed these conclusions, although the Big Bang remains by far the most widely accepted theory of cosmology.

This website provides an update on the evidence and the debate over the Big Bang, including the latest technical review and a reply to a widely- circulated criticism as well as a technical reading list, a report on a recent workshop and links to other relevant sites, including one that described my own work on fusion power, which is closely linked to my work in cosmology.

Hawking is wrong on the the Big Bang

The Poverty of Philosophy; why Stephen Hawking is wrong on the Big Bang

Gerry Downing

The death of Stephen Hawking on 14 March involved this author in four separate Facebook debates. Many comments were simply ignorant attacks on me for having the gall to attack the conclusions of the great scientist, some sneering bigots who were open renegades from Trotskyism, former comrades who wanted to ingratiate themselves with the capitalist establishment vis Labour reformism to enhance future career prospects by attacking revolutionary Trotskyism.

TRUMP MOVES ON TO ADVANCE THE IMPERIALISM'S AGENDA

As Trump's populist electoral approach is hijacked by the establishment, he moves on to advance the imperialism's agenda

Obama’s eight-year legacy as the empire’s commander in chief became consolidated abroad as ultra-interventionist through the implementation of policies that varied from parliamentary coups in regions such as Brazil, Argentina, and Egypt to terrorizing drone military wars in most parts of the Middle East.

Domestically, the working class vanguard recognizes him by his constant assault on minorities by creating a police state that killed many young black lives and escalated the deportation of Latino and Muslim immigrants to numbers never seen before. His fake demagogy of “hope” unveiled his true imperialism agenda: to deepen America’s working class exploitation, but most importantly to escalate terrorism in the Middle East and destabilize the BRICS by pushing for the implementation of a new cold war.

TRUMP INAUGURATION - SWL-LCFI PAMPHLET

The Election of Trump: An Existential Threat to the Organised Working Class in the USA and Globally

SWL panphlet

As a working class, we must unite all oppressed to oppose the imperialist ruling class at home and its imperialist maneuvers around the world!

More than ever it is necessary to unify our class, women, whites, blacks, Muslims, Indians, Asians, Latinos, LGBTQ and immigrants against the rising police state. Donald Trump is an oafish, far-right racist, Islamophobic, sexist, misogynist homophobic, ablest bigot who rose to power with the support of a far-right constituency that includes white supremacists and fascist groups such as Ku Klux Klan. His victory has greatly strengthened these groups’ ideology as it has also happened in Britain after the Brexit, in Europe and internationally.

Ten positions for the revolution and the communist identity today

Ten positions for the revolution and the communist identity today

For debate and discussion. Much to agree with here but I feel that we cannot dispense with Trotskyism and start again, the Fifth International was still born and let us not raise the prospect of a Sixth.
No, to understand this crisis odd revolutionary leadership we must examine the crisis of Trotskyism during and after WWII. And in detail and all its currents. Because it was to the banner of revolutionary Trotskyism the best of the youth and fighters for revolutionary socialism were drawn and the ranks of these groups contain the best revolutionary socialists.

How the bolsheviks organised the unemployed

How the bolsheviks organised the unemployed 2

By Sergei Malyshev

INTRODUCTION
By the Leninist Trotskyist Tendency May 1992. This new edition of Sergei Malyshev’s pamphlet should be of more than historical interest. First issued in 1931 at the depth of the world slump under the title Unemployed Councils in St Petersburg in 1906, it deals with an important episode of Bolshevik history which few other works touch on. Although its author was no theoretician, the interest of the pamphlet lies in its vivid account of the practical experiences made by Bolshevik organisers among the unemployed in the aftermath of the 1905 revolution. Its relevance today, in the midst of a deep international recession with vast reservoirs of ‘conjunctural’ and ‘structural’ unemployment, should not be lost on any serious socialist.

USA – The Empire Racist Police

Against the black genocide promoted by imperialism and its cyber repressive apparatus!

In the US, the State imperialist police kill an average of three people, mainly black, a day without any trial or legal process. This violence is part of the US history and goes back to the Fugitive Slave Act of 1793, where policemen hunted slaves who tried to escape from their oppressors. Since then, under a democratic outburst, the number of blacks hunted, arrested and executed only increased.

Two deaths of back men were captured on camera and went viral weeks ago. Once again, these killings sparkled the back community’s fight against racist police. In Louisiana, Alton Sterling, 37, father of 5 children was shot in cold blood and bled to death after being crushed by two policemen between his bumper car and the asphalt.
48 hours later, in a traffic blitz in Minnesota, Philando Castilla was summarily executed in a car by a police officer in front of his 4-year-old daughter when reaching out for his wallet in the glove compartment. His girlfriend was also in the car and filmed his execution.

U.S. - PRESIDENTIAL ELECTIONS

Choosing the Commander in Chief who will direct imperialism in World War III

Promising to get rid of George Bush Junior’s legacy, Obama was elected while surfing on a wave of optimism. But his "Yes we can" has left the working class and oppressed with "what have we done?" as Obama has cynically deepened imperialism’s agenda by continuing the Bush horror legacy in the Middle East, backstabbing the working class and oppressed by promulgating policies that have only exacerbated their impoverishment after the 2008 capitalist depression, and extending the U.S. influence further into Asia, Africa and rallied western European allies in imperialist encirclement at the Russian border, paving the way for a new war.

BRAZIL: A COUP BY IMPERIALISM AGAINST THE WORKERS...

Brazil: A coup by imperialism against the workers and the tasks of the communists in the new cold war

By Humberto Rodrigues, “Folha do Trabalhador” newspaper of Brazilian section of LCFI.

Brazil’s President Dilma Rousseff sworn in for the second time
in 2015, now facing impeachment, dismissal and possible
jail in a US imperialist sponsored constitutional coup.
The impeachment push to overthrow the government of the PT in Brazil has been orchestrated since 2013. It is a parliamentary coup d’etat to take out the PT government at any cost. Corruption crimes of which the PT was accused have been proven to be practiced by all his tormentors and on a much larger scale. The bourgeois opposition lost the last four presidential elections in 2002, 2006, 2010 and 2014. These political representatives of the bourgeoisie, supported by imperialism, can only regain the presidency of Brazil by subverting the functioning of the current presidential government system, even though Brazilian bourgeois democracy is extremely limited. This was only possible after the unification of the entire bourgeoisie as a class against the PT, aggravating the dictatorship of capital.

THE NEW COLD WAR INTER-CAPITALIST

The crisis of 2008 in US and Europe opens up space for expansion of the influence of BRICS on the planet

The 2008 capitalist crisis triggered a US economic slowdown and the European Union on the world market. It was then that a group of countries led by China and Russia, the BRICS, of which Brazil is part, occupied this space. The constitution of capitalist imperialism of the rival bloc was possible because right in front of Brazil, India and South Africa, China and Russia are nations that have become capitalist powers. China and Russia combine exceptionally in its constitution:

Put one more S in the U.S.A.

One more S in the U.S.A.
Oh, we’ll live to see it yet.
When the land belongs to the farmers
And the factories to the working men–
The U.S.A. when we take control
Will be the U.S.S.A. then.
